General
What is the cancellation fee?
A card is required to book any service. If you cancel or rebook within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged 100% of the services you reserved. If your card declines, you will no longer be able to book future appointments until the fee is paid. We understand emergencies happen. Please be mindful that this is how we make a living to support our families, and it is very difficult to fill a slot once cancelled last minute. We try to be as flexible and dependable for clients and expect the same consideration in return. If declining cards continue to be a problem, we will be updating our policy to require pre payments to reserve an appointment slot.
What are your hours?
Our store permanent hours are Monday-Friday 11am-2pm. Although we do services 7 days a week at varying and later hours based on the availability of each service provider. These services are by appointment only to prevent waiting on both ends. Walk-ins are welcome during store hours (11a-2pm) based on availability. It is not always guaranteed without a reserved appointment time. Book online to guarantee a time slot!
Where do I park?
Parking is under the carport, on the street in front of the store, or in the parking lot to the left of our store.
Where are you located?
We are on a one way street driving away from downtown after the first house on the corner of Austin Street and 11th Street.
Injectables
How can I book my injectables?
A & A Injections is a solo business located inside of Camberwell Beauty, not employed by Camberwell Beauty. Ashley makes all of her own appointments. A link to reach her is located under our "injectables" tab. She has two locations, with us and in Burkburnett, TX. Please confirm your appointment location.
Brows
What is the difference between a brow stain and brow henna?
Henna looks more natural in coloring, and is made to stain the skin so it can appear to last a bit longer than your standard tint. Henna does require a 30-45 min processing time, so you will have the choice to wait in store, come back, or remove it at home. Hybrid tint does not require a long processing time, tints the hair and skin - so stays bold and longer. *Although rare, skin staining allergies vary person to person based on skin type, and a patch test should be done before your first time using any of these.
Why is your brow stain more unique than a brow tint?
Our hybrid tint is a unique formulation that is henna-free but stains the skin to last like a henna and longer than a traditional tint or stain. It was developed with a peptide-bond infused formula to help repair damaged hair.
How long will the tints last?
A stain typically lasts 5-7 days on the skin and 4-6 weeks on the hair. This timeframe varies by skin type and aftercare therefore is not guaranteed. Staining occurs on the epidermis which naturally slough off based on the skin cell renewal speed. It is unrealistic to expect the stain to last longer than a week on the skin.
Why do I need a patch test?
We strongly suggest a patch test at least 48 hours before applying a tint to the face. All tints contain PPD, and other conditions on the face can result in chemical burns. If you opt out of a patch test, we have a form for you to sign to waive any liability.
What is a brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a brow perm. It redirects your hair growth to stand up instead of comb down to give a fuller look or to help unruly curly hair. Your hair will take shape better each time that you receive one. It lasts 4-6 weeks with proper aftercare. Retail brow soap or brow gel are wonderful products for upkeep training of the hair.
Why can't I book a lamination with henna?
You can book a lamination and a tint, however not a lamination with henna. Henna alters the pH of the hair making it unsuitable to add onto a freshly chemically treated hair. You may however add a henna a few days after if you prefer that over the tint.
Do you do brow mapping?
I self map and prefer to follow your natural brow line, rather than create one and tell you that one day your brows will fill into it. We will make them as symmetrical as possible with what you have. If you prefer string mapping, please request for that in your booking notes.
Facials
Which facial should I book?
There is a full menu with descriptions to help you decide what you're looking for. All facials include a consultation, so if we need to make changes after analyzing the skin we can do so as long as the time is allotted for. I like to break it up into
-Problematic skin: Skin Clarity, Omega Green, BioRePeel and Peels 1-3
-Aging skin: Fountain of Youth, Level 3 Peel, Liquid Microneedling, PDRN
-Dull or Sun Damaged skin: Glass Skin, Peels 2-3, Liquid Microneedling
-Sensitive skin: Barrier Repair, Omega Green, Peel Level 1
-Relaxation: Tranquility, Back Facial
What is Liquid Microneedling?
Liquid Microneedling is the use of sea sponge microspears that create microchannels in the skin for skin rejuvenation and product penetration. These microspears are embedded in the skin and will be naturally pushed out over the next 72 hours which in my personal opinion can enhance the results rather than the traditional microneedling that begin the moment the needles raise from the skin. There is no numbing needed, no needles used, and no blood. Typically downtime looks like 1-3 days of tenderness, and 3-5 days of flaking.
What is the Electrical Muscle Stimulation in the Fountain of Youth Facial?
Electrical Muscle Stimulation is a device to tighten and lift your muscles below skin level. It uses electrotherapy that mimic our body's natural electrical currents (that jump cell to cell) to stimulate and contract facial muscles. This treatment reeducates tired muscles by stretching & contracting to give a toned and lifted result (varying person to person). It is not a permanent result & will need continuous upkeep.
What is the tight cracked looking mask I keep seeing in posts?
The Firming Peptide mask constricts and tightens the skin, making your heart pump harder to bring circulation to the skin. This circulation then delivers nutrients through oxygen and removes toxins through carbon dioxide by the natural process of our circulatory system. Stimulating the skin's metabolism, ATP assists with wrinkle reduction, moisture retention and skin rejuvenation, promoting a smooth, radiant, balanced complexion. *Due to the tightening nature of this mask, this treatment is not recommended for those with claustrophobia.
Do peels hurt?
Peels are listed in Levels 1-3 in reference to experience, pain level, and shedding to be expected. A Level 1 is a wonderful treatment for those that are new to peels or don't want any shedding, just a glow. We can even add a Level 1 peel on top of an already exfoliated face by booking The Glow Up. This is our most popular facial service. A Level 3 will not be performed without us knowing your skin is strong enough by first receiving a Level 2. Levels 3-4 help with acne scarring and melasma or hyperpigmentation. Increasing Levels too soon can result in blistering or skin discoloration which is why following the course is vital.
How often should I get a facial?
This differs from client to client. If we are doing a series to target specific skin concerns, we may be doing a facial every 2-4 weeks for 2-4 months. If you are just looking for skin maintenance, a full regimen at home with a professional facial every 1-3 months is wonderful upkeep.
Can I get a facial right before my wedding?
We do not recommend getting a facial right before an important event unless you've been getting facials by us regularly. A change in product brands or even the random use of professional grade can speed up cell turnover and possibly create some purging.
Do I really need to buy the products?
Skincare begins at home. One facial cannot remove years worth of damage overnight. You will be seeing your own products on your bathroom sink more often than seeing us! We can help you create the perfect regimen for your skin type and concerns. Just because your friend uses something doesn't mean it will give you the same results.
Waxing
What kind of wax do you use?
We first apply an oil to protect the skin from the wax, then use a cream wax which I find is much less traumatic to the skin and results in less hair breakage than hard wax.
Is it going to hurt?
Removing hair from the root can cause some discomfort, but everyone's threshold is different. However with professional technique and regular visits that breakdown the bulb, the discomfort will lessen each time. If pain is of concern, we recommend taking Ibroprofen 30 minutes prior to your service.
How long do I have to grow it out?
1/4 of an inch or the length of a grain of rice; 4-6 weeks of growth between waxes or 2-3 weeks from a shave.
What are the best tips to reduce pain?
An over the counter pain reliever 30 minutes beforehand, no caffeine same day, exfoliating the night before, no prolonged breaks or shaving between appointments.
How can I help reduce ingrown hairs?
Exfoliation is key to removing the dead skin that can block the hair. We carry body brushes and ingrown serums in store.
Can I get waxed while pregnant?
You can still get waxed while pregnant although you are much more sensitive.
Can I get a brazilian wax while on mentruation?
You can, but a tampon must be worn. Your skin will also be more senstive than usual.
What if I breakout after a wax?
This is most commonly a histamine reaction. Take an antihistamine or use the ingrown serum we carry to reduce this reaction. Also avoid tight clothing, steam, sweat, and lotions.
Lashes
My lash girl is out of town. Can I book my fill here?
We do not accept foreign fills because we cannot stand behind 50% of someone else's work. We will gladly remove your current lashes and apply a new set. (A removal is not necessary between providers employed at Camberwell Beauty because we all use the same brands and supplies.)
How long do they last?
Lash extensions are lashes applied to your natural lash. Naturally, your lashes fall out and a new one will grow in. That, and other elements such as sleeping on your face, sweat and oils, you can expect to need a fill every 2-3 weeks. This time frame may vary based on person's skin, lifestyle, and aftercare.
How can I make them last longer?
The lash artist will go over aftercare with you. We also carry an oil free makeup remover/lash cleanser and lash strengthening serums.
Which set should I choose?
There are photos of the different sets on our menu to help you decide. The Classic set is a great natural look. The Hybrid creates more fullness. Volume is full glam. Keep in mind, there are certain thicknesses and lengths that will work better with your natural lash and everyone's result will differ based on the number of natural lashes and eye shape. Book a lash consultation for in depth discussion of mappings and for a lash patch test.
Why do I need a patch test?
Cyanoacrylate is an ingredient found in essentially all lash adhesives and the likely cause of an allergic reaction. Whether you've never had a reaction, or you have but wanted to try a new place - we urge all new clients to take an adhesive patch test. Those that get fills regularly, can also have an allergy come up at anytime - with or without changes to the service or aftercare, and even after a long break from lashing. If a reaction does occur, medication is likely needed from a physician before booking the removal.
Parties
How do we schedule a group and what does it entail?
A party or couples treatment can be booked by phone, email, or in person. A deposit is due to reserve the date and is non-refundable. (This is because we are blocking an entire day from others booking, making the day exclusive for you). We will provide music, drinks, and snacks - but you are welcome to bring your own additionally. A couples treatment includes the store closed exclusively for you, & a choice of treatments. For parties, service providers will be available for services requested by your guests.
